Bar Comida is the third concept to open within Chez Melange, an eclectic bistro on S. Catalina Ave in Redondo Beach. As for a little background, Chez Melange has existed in Redondo Beach for quite some time. Three years ago the restaurant moved into its current space, but for 26 years before that is sat on the PCH. Since the move, owners Robert Bell and Michael Franks wanted to change things up and offer guests three dining experiences. Now there's Chez Melange the bistro, Bouzy, a gastropub opened in November 2008, and the most recent addition, Bar Comida, a Spanish tapas/small plates bar that launched on June 30. Cooking in the open kitchen one will find Diane Scalia, founding partner of Melting Pot Food Tours. Her dishes change nightly and are listed on a blackboard menu. Bar Comida is now open for dinner Tue to Sat starting at 5:30.
