VENICE— Remember that whole situation in which Gjelina was ordered to reduce its number of seats? Well, if the restaurant has yet to oblige, it better. The Department of Building and Safety issued an "order to comply," which means an inspector will come by to make sure Gjelina doesn't have more than 60 seats in the restaurant (inclusive of 14 on the patio). [DD]
AROUND TOWN— Everybody and their mother is talking about it. From tomorrow night until Monday morning this here city will experience...CARMAGGEDON. LA traffic is bad in general, but close off the 405 between the 101 the 10? Now that's just rude. But it's happening. So, in effort to lure out residents, The Daily Meal lists eateries around town offering all sorts of special dining deals. Have at it. And on the subject of CARMAGGEDON, Ben & Jerry's at the Howard Hughes Center is giving out free scoops of "What A Cluster" from 4-6PM. Nice. [The Daily Meal, LAmag]
DOWNTOWN— After that whole shutter and parting of ways between Toddy G's owners, the restaurant has morphed into Pizzanista, now run by Salman Agah, Price Latimer Agah, and Roby Latimer. [Grub Street]
HOLLYWOOD— Chick-fil-A should open at 6750 W. Sunset Blvd in mid-September. [LAW]
