CENTURY CITY— Hmm, so after that whole pink donkey incident, Pink Taco hired a new chef. Vernon Cardenas was formerly Corporate Executive Chef of Sushi Roku, BOA Steakhouse, and Katana, so this is an interesting move for him, especially since the press release tells us he was born in San Diego and raised in Japan. This will be the first time Cardenas tackles Mexican cuisine. [EaterWire]
WEST HOLLYWOOD— It's been awhile since we heard anything from Palihouse. Open now seven days a week is their new Salle des Fetes: The Palihouse Cafe. Open for breakfast counter service at 7AM, this new spot will serve parfaits, brie sandwiches, coffee and wine. The complimentary WiFi is a nice touch. [EaterWire]
