The Strand House Opens August 10, Pure Luck Replaced By The Faculty, MORE!

MANHATTAN BEACH— Grub Street checks out the New American menu soon to be served by chefs Neal Fraser (BLD) and Travis Lorton (Gjelina) at The Strand House. Per its website, The Strand House opens August 10 with a pricey ($100) pre-launch party on August 9 that benefits the Roadhouse Aquarium. [Grub Street, website]

HOLLYWOOD— Pure Luck, the much-loved vegan cafe on Heliotrope which shuttered in May, has been superseded by The Faculty. Owner Mauricio Aquino, who left Sublime Lounge in Culver City, isn't ready for interior photography just yet and right now Urban Daddy says management is "sporadically throwing open the doors when they feel like it." Expect NY-style deli sandwiches, 10 craft beers on tap, and about eight red wines/eight white wines by the glass (plus more by bottle) from South America, Portugal and Italy. [Urban Daddy]

MID-CITY— The newish Italian eatery that replaced All' Angelo on Melrose, TiroVino Wine Bar, now offers weekend brunch on Sat and Sun from 10AM-3PM. Black truffle scrambled eggs? Yes, please. [EaterWire]

WESTWOOD— No confirmed details yet but word on the street is that the W Hotel in Westwood will soon undergo a revamp of its lobby and restaurant, and we presume the latter to reference NINETHIRTY, the most recent stomping ground of rumored Top Chef: Texas contestant Dakota Weiss. [EaterWire]
