Following its soft launch on July 15, owner Lidia Ramirez, who up until recently catered for celebrities on movie sets, officially debuts Lidia's Dominican Kitchen food truck on July 31 from 1-7PM on the corner of La Brea and Beverly. Ramirez serves a slew of Dominican specialties like a plantain sandwich with chicken or pork and an avocado sauce ($7); plantain tamales filled with chicken, pork or tofu ($3); cassava root fries with garlic sauce ($3); and a few empanadas ($2). Desserts are either flan, coconut flan, or tres leches cake ($4), and to drink there's soda and some tropical juices. Track the truck here. [EaterWire]
