The Daily Bruin reports on the temporary shut down of UCLA food delivery service, Ching-Chong-Ling-Long. Founded by students Daniel Chen and Kedar Iyer, the name meant to poke fun and appeal to the UCLA demographic. The students partnered with Rachel Lee, owner of The Palace Restaurant, back in June to offer affordable Chinese food delivery to the Westwood area. Since then, complaint letters have hit Assemblyman Mike Eng's inbox. Eng, citing California's "long history of jingoism against Chinese Americans" has publicly expressed concern with the name. Chen maintains, “Our aim is to provide Asian food with a serving of humor." [TDB]
