Status: Soft opened yesterday
Set to open to the public this Friday
Wirtshaus promises authentic German food from authentic Germans, Bjoern Risse and Bülent Yildirim. Inspired by the owners' countryside upbringing as well as their appreciation of American tastes, menu items range from traditional to modern to humorous, and include a dessert called "Spaghettieis", which is described as "a German ice cream specialty that resembles a plate of spaghetti."

German-born chef, Kenny Seliger has filled the menu with Schnitzel, sausages, potato pancakes and pretzels. A Biergarten allows pets and the restaurant features a separate "doggie menu" for canine customers The beer list features only German and Austrian varieties, all on tap. Wines are on offer as well. Hitting a few major trends, Wirtshaus offers seating around communal tables and a game room in addition to the extensive beer selection behind the bar. Wirtshaus is open daily for lunch and dinner, from 11AM to 12AM. [EaterWire]
