MID-CITY— Newly opened Pizzeria il Fico begins lunch service today. The restaurant will also commence lunch on Saturdays as of this weekend. [EaterWire]

CASTING CALLS— Food Network is looking to cast a new season of The Next Food Network Star. Producers are looking for "strong culinary skills, personality that pops, passion for cooking, extensive food knowledge, and lots of energy & enthusiasm!" Interested parties should come to the Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel on August 26 from 10AM to 2PM. Bring two head shots, this completed application, and a copy of your resume. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— Hollywood Pies has been killing it lately, yes for delivery and (sketchy?) take-out only. As far as an actual sit down restaurant, management says "brick and mortar is one of multiple scenarios we are looking at." [EaterWire]

PACIFIC PALISADES— Despite delays and odd ABC license verbage, looks like Maison Giraud is still on track for a debut... at some point in the near future. They're staffing up, per Craigslist, so perhaps about three-ish weeks out from launch. [Craigslist]
