In 2006 Hyde Lounge was the IT nook, catering to Los Angeles starlets into the wee morning hours. Milk and cookies (with brandy!), those steak skewers, and The Love Unit marked some of the club's signature bites and sips. As it so goes in this here city, after a few years the nighttime haunt was in need of a refresh, so it closed doors for a six month renew.
Hyde 2.0 reopens on August 17 with DJ Samantha Ronson kicking the beats. What's interesting to note is that Brent Bolthouse, who split with sbe's Sam Nazarian back in September 2009, has signed on to restore Hyde to its glory days. Bolthouse with biz partner Jenifer Rosero, Hyde's original launch team, will run this show.
As for design, Gulla Jonsdottir, of G+ Design (Red O, My Studio, Eden) helped orchestrate sbe's vision and per the release Hyde's aesthetic is now "reminiscent of an ornate jewelry box."
All we know about the food/drink program is that Hyde will feature "organically-crafted signature and classic libations, as well as a menu of delectable small plates composed by sbe Executive Chef Danny Elmaleh."
