2) Silver Lake: The Burrito King on Hyperion has been purchased by the owners of nearby Tomato Pie. In about two weeks management plans to open a restaurant called Mixto Comida Latina, which will serve "tacos, tortas, burritos and other Mexican food made with grass-fed beef and sustainable foods." 3) Mid-City: Actually, Barbrix owners Claudio and Adria Blotta have teamed up with Ammo's chef and pastry chef, Dan Mattern and Roxana Jullapat, to open Cook County in the former home of Bistro LQ. Expect California rustic fare with most sizable plates costing under $22. An opening may or may not come by Nov. [LAT]

3) Around Town: That previously mentioned seafood spot, Lobster ME, is coming to LA this winter. [EaterWire] — DG

4) Venice: Wurstkuche is coming right along. Co-owner Joseph Pitruzzelli still hopes to open early September. [EaterWire]

5) West LA: Blockheads Shavery Co. has hit the usual entanglements with final City approvals etc. Owners hope to open ASAP. [EaterWire]
