Sfixio Opens Tomorrow On A Whim In Beverly Hills

New, 21 comments

Did Sfixio slip your mind? The replacement for Da Vinci on Santa Monica Blvd opens tomorrow on a whim. And, in fact, that's exactly what "sfixio" means in Italian, says husband and wife duo Massimo Denaro and Mara Sampo. This time around 9737 Santa Monica Boulevard will serve an Italian/Mediterranean menu described as "classic Italian fare with a modern twist." Both the lunch and dinner lists focus on Tuscan specialties like pappardelle with braised wild boar, gnudi with fresh ricotta and spinach, and veal with mixed wild mushrooms, and there's also an extensive crudo selection for a lighter meal. Overall though, Sfixio's claim to fame is the absence of a freezer which will allow for fresh ingredients and house-made pastas to be rolled daily.
The look of Da Vinci has been replaced with a more modern Milan-inspired shiny white and silver aesthetic. In addition to the dining room, there's also a bar/lounge area in which a DJ will spin beats. Of course there is. Call 310-385-1800 for a resy, or drop by on a whim.
