Vosges Coming Soon to Beverly Hills

New, 10 comments

Racked spotted it first. Beverly Hills is getting its own Vosges Haut-Chocolat shop this fall. The design, by award-winning Beverly Hills-based Poon Design, is a remodel of a Nine West shoe store. The long, narrow 1,400 square foot space is now divided into three rooms, one after another. Per the designers, "Each room represents a different concept and a different experience. The entry is about arrival, people, and gathering. It has an intimate, comfortable café setting with an eclectic mix of lounge furniture and a wall installation that explains the story of chocolate around the world."

Moving through the space, the middle room is the largest and houses the marketplace and sales area. Meant to be grand and bright, it will have a vaulted ceiling with spot lights coming through like stars. Archways, white marble, writing on the walls and dramatic, worldly flourishes are likely to let the place stand out even in glitzy Beverly Hills.

The last room is the Chocolate Theater which was designed to emphasis "process and experimentation." This is a place where curious minds can sit around a community table and watch Chef Katrina create in the Chocolate Lab. There will also be a private tasting area upstairs when the project is fully complete later this year. [EaterWire]
