Just a quick update from the Farmers Market. Up above, shots of ply from Nancy Silverton and partner Amy Pressman's Short Order burger bar which is expected to soft open late September, with a public debut early to mid October. As one would expect from Silverton, Short Order's menu will change seasonally so don't expect to find heirloom tomatoes on the menu in January. In addition to burgers the eatery will serve deviled eggs, fries, onion rings, and custard shakes.
Short Order received its full liquor license just four days ago (filed under the name Grass Burger actually) and as expected mixologist Julian Cox (Rivera, Playa, Sotto, Picca) will head up cocktails. In addition to booze anticipate an extensive beer program as well.
Now, it's interesting to note that in addition to the launch of Short Order, Silverton and Pressman will also debut an adjacent bakery concept called Short Cake which will craft baked good for Short Order but also cater to the public with, of course, seasonal offerings. Think of this as more of a casual cafe or breakfast spot because in addition to baked goods Short Cake will offer savory pies, sandwiches, market salads, and tarts, alongside single origin coffee. Fun.
