The Strand House's pre-opening party tonight has sold out, but come Thursday at 5PM the restaurant will part doors for its grand reveal. However, for an advanced sneak peek inside, click through the above gallery for a photo montage of the sleek, modern newcomer with a killer ocean view.
These right here are the two chefs in command, consulting overlord Neal Fraser (BLD) and Travis Lorton (Gjelina) who together conceived The Strand House's New American "modern heirloom" menu which calls for locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Alongside them comes pastry chef Seth Caro, contestant on season one of Top Chef: Just Desserts, who is overseeing both the restaurant's dessert and cocktail menus.
Restauranteur, hotelier, and South Bay native Michael Zislis is behind this venture, Zislis owns a slew of South Bay properties from the Shade hotel to Mucho Ultima Mexicana and Brewco, a Mexican restaurant and microbrewery, respectively. He brought on board designer Larry Drasin of Beverly Hills-based Drasin Designs to shepherd The Strand House's eco-friendly beach home-esque aesthetic .
When The Strand House opens on Thursday it will accommodate walk-ins until September 1, at which point the venue will begin to accept reservations. Hours of operation run Monday to Thu from 5PM to midnight, Friday from 5PM to 1AM, Saturday from 11:30AM to 1AM, and Sunday from 11:30AM to midnight.
