Bobby Bognar, host of Food Tech on History Channel, has purchased The Point in Culver City, the failed lunch place operated by chef Mark Peel (Campanile, The Tar Pit) two years ago. Bognar, who has been in the restaurant business since he was 15, says, "If everything falls in place, we'll be open next month, with our beer and wine license coming a month or so after...We're hoping to become a big part of the daily picture over at the Hayden Tract, offering breakfast and lunch weekdays, some special weekend events that we are still working on, and also really offering some amazing catering services to the businesses and residences in Culver City."
