SILVER LAKE— Eater's dear photographer Elizabeth Daniels is feeling under the weather. Which is why we have yet to share photos from the newly opened Mixto (operated by those behind nearby Tomato Pie) in the former Burrito King space. We hope she feels better soon. In any event, Eating LA popped by Mixto and says that the grass-green venue serves grass-fed, vegan-friendly Mexican fare inclusive of tacos, burritos, tortas and quesadillas with a few sides and salads. SANTA MONICA—Salute Wine Bar on Main Street will soon start construction to expand its outdoor patio to offer more al fresco dining. BTW, that project between Salute's owner and his cousin Joey Campanaro is on hold for now. [EaterWire]

K-TOWN— Now that MoKo is shuttered, chef Gary Robins will pop up at Biergarten on Western to prepare a special tbd a la carte Oktoberfest menu on Sept 24, 25 and Oct 1, 2. [EaterWire]

SANTA MONICA— Zengo inside Santa Monica Place is hopping on the Peruvian bandwagon. Chef Richard Sandoval is adding a few Lima and Tokyo-inspired dishes to the menu starting next month. Newly added sake and pisco libations, too. [EaterWire]
