MID-CITY— A little action shot of Marcona sandwich shop scoring its exterior sign from about an hour or so ago. Still on tap to open next month. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN— Amanda Baumgarten, the Top Chef alum chef who stepped up to replaced longtime Water Grill chef David LeFevre earlier this year, has departed the restaurant. No news on her plans as of yet. [EaterWire]

VENICE— So, remember how Roy Choi (Kogi) signed on to re-conceptualize Beechwood and launch an Indian eatery? Apparently that idea has been scratched. VENICE— Urban Daddy reports that Barlo, the new restaurant which replaced Hash in the Hotel Erwin, is now soft open. There's a whole lot of bacon caramel action going on from popcorn to burger inside this revamped industrial minimalist scene. Curious. [Urban Daddy]
