HIGHLAND PARK— Signage now up for Andre Guerrero's (The Oinkster) Maximiliano. The original plan was to open by Sept 1, but a few weeks ago Guerrero told Eater end of September was more likely. Now Guerrero reveals to HPP that he's shooting for Oct 7. [EaterWire, HPP]

DOWNTOWN— Brigham Yen says that citybilly, a new "modern American comfort food” spot, soft opened last week in the previous Pasta Primavera space on 7th Street. MANHATTAN BEACH— Pacific Palisades Beech Street Cafe owner Bobby Mackston has taken on two new partners and converted his smaller offshoot pizza place, Beech Street Pizza in Manhattan Beach, into a new pizza concept. The eatery, now called Union Pizza Company, serves Chicago-style deep dish pies in addition to the same thin crust pies from Beech Street Pizza days. [EaterWire]
