George Abou-Daoud's (The Bowery, Rosewood Tavern) District is now long gone and mid next week he will open doors to Township Saloon, his follow up act, an American restaurant and bar. Above, a look inside. It's clear that District's bones are still in place, but the space has been retooled to now reflect Americana ideals. New red banquette/bar stool cushions and American flags jazz up the dining room. On the menu expect to find classic American plates pulled from around the country (Memphis-Style Baby Back Ribs, New England Clam Chowder, Detroit-Style Hot Dogs), American craft beers, and a full bar.
