1) Echo Park: With Local and (highly acclaimed, now closed) Chimú under his belt, Jason Michaud opened Red Hill a few days ago in Echo Park. The menu features a lot of vegetarian-friendly small plates along with a whole roasted Branzino, venison meatballs and spit-roasted chicken. Now serving dinner nightly starting at 6PM. 1325 Echo Park Ave; 323-465-0447; website

2) K-Town: Daddy O's Coffee has taken over the space that was Essence Coffee. Officially opened this weekend, Daddy O's is serving the neighborhood with breakfast muffins and pastries, coffee and tea. For lunch, sandwiches and wraps are among the limited options. 3458 1/2 Wilshire Blvd; 213-382-2142; website

3) Hollywood: Buffalo Wild Wings is a local chain on a rampage. They've opened three new locations across Los Angeles in the past three months. This new spot in Hollywood is their latest. Construction finished before the new year, but they opened to the public only last week. 7060 Hollywood Blvd; 323-466-1721; website
