Along 4th Street in Long Beach, several restaurants have won the right to set up parklets in what are currently precious parking spaces. Berlin Bistro, Lola's Mexican Cuisine and Number Nine, a Vietnamese fusion restaurant, are all in line to start constructing their parklets which will be used for dining and lounging. According to the Los Angeles Times, the parklets are the first in Southern California. Parklets can cost up to $40,000 to construct. [LAT]
