Though not yet complete, here now an early look inside that $1.5 million Water Grill redo downtown. Originally, King's Seafood Company planned to shutter their well-respected seafood darling for a one month update, though according to PR the relaunch has been pushed back a bit and at the very earliest Water Grill could reopen in about two weeks.
Peering into the space, which is in complete plywood mode at the moment, one can see signs of the new contemporary aesthetic and a softer palate of gray, white, and beige. Thankfully Water Grill 2.0 will too offer comfy oversized booths within a much more open layout. Notice the new tin ceiling, white subway tiles, and wooden flooring replaces carpet in the dining room. As for the chef and menu situation, a replacement for Amanda Baumgarten has yet to be hired, though the restaurant will reopen with newly added dishes and a fresh selection of craft beer on tap and in bottle.
