1) Haunted House at Philippe's French Dip

What: One of the oldest restaurants in L.A. used to house a bordello on the second floor. Look for paranormal experiences, ghosts, all that stuff that seems to happen around this time of year. The party happens upstairs.
2) Fancy Oktoberfest at Lucques
When: Sunday, 5 p.m.
Where: Lucques
What: The second annual event is headlined by Craftsman founder Mark Jilg, who will be pouring special brews from seasonal drafts while Schnapps and steins go alongside the best of fall's produce haul. Think roasted apples, grilled and pan-roasted sausages, and pretzels at $55 a head.
3) Bottomless Brunch at Border Grill
When: Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Border Grill Santa Monica
What: Choose from a massive selection of small plates at Border Grill's new bottomless brunch. Think guava empanadas, potato tacos, frittata tarts, Peruvian shrimp & grits, and churro tots. Add on bottomless mimosas or bloody marys. It's a recipe for a great weekend brunch.
4) Taste of Abbot Kinney
When: Sunday, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Abbot Kinney in Venice
What: The annual fundraiser for after-school program Inside Out Community Arts features a walking tour of all the restaurants in addition to beer and wine tastings. Intelligentsia, FEED Body & Soul, Whole Foods Venice, The Tasting Kitchen will all be represented. Tickets on sale here.
