Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

After announcing reservations and the all-star lineup for the upcoming run of Test Kitchen at Bestia, here now a sneak peek inside the completed restaurant in the Arts District, on the edge of Downtown.

A corrugated facade next to the eatery shows the remnants of the words "Bestia," and overall the digs look like an appropriate setting for suave urban dining. There's a walkup that leads to a landing with floor to ceiling windows which face an alley, and an open atrium area inside will likely serve as the official entrance. The design itself isn't quite as derivative as most new restaurants, a more open layout highlights the kitchen and natural light abounds. Eclectic hanging pendant lamps dot the ceiling while tan leather booths and clean wood accents fill in. See the space in person starting October 16.
