1) 626 Night Market
When: October 20, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday October 21, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: Santa Anita Park
What: The incredibly popular 626 Night Market returns with much larger digs in Arcadia. The two-day event features the largest Asian night market in America, with 150 vendors hawking boba, dumplings, noodles, and more. Admission is free and the first 1000 adults get $2 vouchers for betting the horses. Parking is $7 dollars after 4 p.m.

When: October 19, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Chichen Itza
What: Chef Gilberto Cetina will be discussing his new cookbook, Sabores Yucatecos, along with a cooking class called "Hanal Pixan" that highlights the cuisine of the Mayans. The class will focus on traditional Day of the Dead fare. A four-course meal will follow after, all for $75 pp.

When: October 20 and 21, 1-5 p.m.
Where: Vanguard LA
What: Vanguard hosts a two-day beerfest with eating competitions, countless steins of beer, and the traditional beerhall scene to boot. Cost is $35 per person or $100 for VIP.

When: October 21, 2-5 p.m.
Where: Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu Hills
What: The seventh annual food fest organized by Los Angeles Magazine features restaurants hand-selected by Dining Editor Lesley Bargar-Suter. Participating restaurants include Farmshop, Lukshon, M.B. Post, Milo & Olive, Mo-Chica, Sotto and Tavern. Tickets cost $115 pp.

When: October 21, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Beer Belly
What: The Beer Chicks, Christina Perozzi and Hallie Beaune, are signing their new book, The Naked Brewer: Fearless Homebrewing, Tips, Tricks & Rule-Breaking Recipes at Beer Belly, along with a guest visit by Evan Kleiman of Good Food at 7 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from the event benefit KCRW.
