There's a Fox in the Barnyard. Or, rather, Jeremy Fox is getting a bit closer to opening his new restaurant, Barnyard, in Venice. The chef has been quietly sourcing products and produce, meeting with vendors and farmers and even, supposedly, foraging. This past weekend, Fox set up shop at Test Kitchen in downtown's Arts District. Curious palates came from all over the city to sample his $55 prix fixe menu, which was based on the type of food he plans to serve at Barnyard.
Other menu items that Fox is currently testing include: Raw Wagyu with brine and spice horseradish, oyster leaf, gherkin pickle; Okra a la plancha wrapped in country ham, handsome red eye gravy sauce; and Merguez sausage roll with brioche, sweet peppers and harissa.
