Above, the facade of Mari Vanna, the long-awaited Russian restaurant which replaces Bastide on Melrose Place. The transformation appears nearly complete, with a rustic Russo-French country aesthetic composed of colorful drawings and faux-aged gateways that lead into the patio and restaurant. Most of the build out seems to have wrapped, though furniture and Mari Vanna's trademark over-the-top knick knacks are still to come.
On a recent trip to check out the space, staff was clearing out the patio for furniture, and palettes of kitchen appliances and materials sat unpackaged.
