Welcome to Meanwhile, In SGV a regular feature in which TC, our fearless leader in all things San Gabriel Valley, brings word of restaurant openings, closings, and other unsung, curious neighborhood goings on.

1) South El Monte: Curry and B.B.Q Plu$, perhaps Ke$ha's soon-to-be favorite Chinese restaurant, recently opened. The menu is Cantonese, and is a bit recollective of Bon Marche Bistro. The chef, from Jiangmen city, Guangdong province, is featuring a curry flavored roast duck, as well as four distinct global curries: Indian, Indonesian, Hong Kong, and "European." To accommodate its Vietnamese neighbors, there is five-hour braised chicken pho, and Hainan chicken rice. Hours of operation run 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday. 9567 E. Garvey Ave., Suite #1-2

2). South El Monte: The bermuda triangle of restaurants which previously housed the well-received but short-lived Pho Minh, has captured a new ship. Kim Kee, the second restaurant by the ownership of the wildly popular Noodle House (Monterey Park), has been packing this particular strip mall since its initial opening. It looks like Chiu Chou noodles finally convinced the masses to grace this lot. 9646 Garvey Ave., Ste 108

3) Rosemead: All-In Crab has debuted at the previous Crabulous space. The setup is nearly exactly the same, and there's a 15% discount running until November 21. 8966 Garvey Ave., Ste C

4) Rowland Heights: Despite the recent closure of Aburaya Tonkatsu & Noodle House, Mita Ramen launched down the street at Hong Kong Plaza. The main item on the bill of fare is, of course, tonkotsu ramen. 18406 #D Colima Rd.
