Status: Soft opens tomorrow
The gentrification of Fairfax continues with Urban Garden, a fast-casual Mediterranean joint from restaurateur George Abou-Daoud. This is the first of what Abou-Daoud hopes will be more locations in a mini-chain. The set up seems simple enough: a long counter filled with easy-to-assemble salads, pitas and plates next to a row of tables and benches. Stuffed grape leaves, falafel, salads and bowls of fresh dips and spreads will be among the most popular items. Also on offer: rotisserie chicken, lamb shawarma and stuffed pitas. Prices range from $6.50 to $12 per plate or bowl. Hours of operation to run daily from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m.
