Upping the game yet again, Umami has joined forces with hip LA-based musician Mayer Hawthorne (who happens to very much like eating), and the outcome is a "flashy but classy" burger called The Hawthorne. Think beef patty, cognac-infused parsnip puree, cognac fondue sauce, hatch chiles and hatch chile straws. BOOM. Someone likes his booze. The aforementioned "special" costs $13 and rolls out October 9, available only via Umami Urban at Space 1520 in Hollywood. If you come by around 8 p.m. Mr.Mayer will be in the house DJing.
