PASADENA— Umami's Old Town Pasadena outlet opens October 17 at 5 p.m. Though photos have yet to be released, flacks for the restaurant state that this eatery embodies a "sleek, modern and minimalist" design. HOLLYWOOD— Tonight Hatfield's holds its first annual Pink Apron dinner with all proceeds going to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The $110 meal (inclusive of wine pairings) will be cooked by a slew of female powerhouse chefs: Mary Sue Milliken (Border Grill), Sherry Yard (Spago), Suzanne Tracht (Jar), Dakota Weiss (NINETHIRTY at W Los Angeles), Nyesha Arrington (Wilshire), and hostess Karen Hatfield.
