Sadly for some in the neighborhood, Henry's Hat closed its doors as of the end of October. The recent change in ownership wasn't a popular move, according to more than a few Yelp reviews, so perhaps a conceptual change will turn the space around.

New ownership is just now teasing out information on Spoonful, a Southern-themed (wait for it...) gastropub open today, according to Thrillist. There's whiskey, beer, and plenty of cocktails, in addition to a menu that includes items like fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, a fried chicken dinner and pecan pie. On the drinks menu, after the Old Fashioneds and Manhattans, are Spoonful's versions of a Sazarac, Pimm's Cup and Mint Julep. And because it had to be done, there's even a drink called the Hot'Lanta, made with cracked black pepper.
