Umami Westwood or U-Mini opened today at noon, and up above is a finished look of the small 1,200 square foot restaurant which replaces Spudnick's on Westwood Boulevard. All shiny and modern, here Umami is playing up the technology card and eventually all customers will place orders via iPads. For now though, a TV screen lists all incoming orders and indicates when an order is ready to be picked up. Remember, there are no waiters here, much like 800 Degrees. As a recap, U-Mini serves a streamlined Umami burger menu and will test new Umami creations as well. Also burgers are smaller in size, 5-ounces as opposed to the standard 6-ounces at other locations and cost between $5.50 and $6.
