Though initially shooting for a November introduction, Don't Tell Mama — Manhattan's cabaret joint and piano bar — is still looking at another four to six weeks of work, according to WEHOville. Also, when the restaurant opens, it will not offer cabaret right off the bat. Partner Jeffrey Steinberger explains, "We're gonna try out and see how the restaurant and bar go ... Then we'll see if the neighborhood understands what we're doing, see if they like us and let them get accustomed to what we're doing." But the musical theatre doesn't stop there. Don't tell Mana has applied for a CUP that would allow waiters (and bartenders) to sing as they serve the eatery's New American plates.
