Well, Il Buco is back. Chef and owner Giacomino Drago shuttered his Italian trattoria last February when he brought on partner Danilo Terribili (Pastagina, Alto Palato) and chef Fredy Escobar (Alto Palato) to launch A1 Cucina Italiana. Despite a glowing LA Times review based off the restaurant's newly remodeled space and menu, the eatery called it quits just last month, at which point Terribili divulged that Drago would continue to operated the restaurant under a new name. Which is somewhat true. According to its website and a Thanksgiving newsletter note that was disseminated today, Drago has reinstated Il Buco in place of A1 Cucina. Restaurant management says the change was "for legal reasons," and a new Italian menu is currently in place.
