This past Saturday, some of LA's best pastry chefs, chefs and food personalities took over The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California in Santa Monica for "Just Desserts" a dessert tasting benefit to support C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program). Along with Sherry Yard (who hosted), Alice Medrich, Evan Kleiman, Robert Wemischner and Roy Choi, Mr. Crazy Cakes himself, Duff Goldman made an appearance. Now that news is circulating about his forthcoming pastry shop, we had to ask: does he actually have the location yet?
Indeed he does. It's an unmarked storefront on Beverly Boulevard, and he's already been using it to bake cakes for Charm City Cakes West and Cakemix. Up above, the location over at 7807 Beverly Boulevard. Right now, the front part of the shop is filled with food coloring, sprinkles, and other finishing elements for cakes, but it will soon be graced with a pastry case, counter and some super "snobby coffee," says Duff, "I want to serve the snobbiest coffee in LA."
