SANTA MONICA— Piero Selvaggio, proprietor of longtime westside Italian institution Valentino, celebrates the restaurant's 40th birthday on November 14 with a dinner titled "Forty Years, Forty Dishes and Forty Wines." Valentino's EC Nico Chessa and pastry chefs Alessandro Stroppa will be joined by chef Celestino Drago (Osteria Drago) and Steve Samson (Sotto) to prepare a 40(!) course menu, paired with 40 wines (2-ounce pours) inspired by the cuisines of Sardinia and Sicily.
