Last night during the Localicious tasting gala at Santa Monica's Annenberg Community Beach House, local chefs gathered to serve up plates and bowls of seasonal California fare in conjunction with the Good Food Festival & Conference to benefit FamilyFarmed.org. While Evan Funke of the forthcoming Bucato partnered with Windrose Farms to prepare an heirloom tomato and burrata bowl, chef Matthew Dickson offered up a short preview menu of sample dishes from the still-under-construction Feed Body & Soul on Abbot Kinney. Interestingly, per the menu, Feed should open "early 2013 for breakfast, lunch and dinner," however last night chefs at the Feed table stated the eatery would launch next month.
As promised, Feed will serve up a health conscious list of "seasonally-inspired" and "forward-thinking California-style dishes" with ingredients sourced locally, centered on organic and sustainable ingredients. Marcos Tello's beverage program will, too, be all organic, ranging from wine to beer to spirits, including cocktails made with "homemade organic syrups and mixers."
