Chef Shuffle at Hamasaku, Tea Geekery, & Much More

WEST LA— Hamasaku's owner, Mike Ovitz, has hired a new Executive Chef. Wonny Lee, formerly of The Bazaar, is new in the kitchen, and is offering a completely new $45 omakase menu. [EaterWire]

HOLLYWOOD— First there was Popeye's, then there was Cardinale Kitchen, and then Sea Minor. GrubStreet notices that Sea Minor shuttered to make way for Vim Thai-Chinese, a fourth location in the concept's mini-chain. [GS]

THE OC— Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa has been introducing the neighborhood to wonky and truly special coffee extractions and roasts for the better part of a year. Now, they plan to do the same kind of exploration into the world of tea. According to OCW, by year's end, they'll open Seventh Tea Bar in a nearby retail space. [OCW]

WEST HOLLYWOOD— Fig & Olive is offering a new prix fixe menu. In addition to their $28 lunch option, the restaurant now offers a four-course, $45 option for dinner only. [EaterWire]
