Urban Radish, a new eco-conscious grocery store stocking seasonal produce, plus quality seafood, meat, and dairy, is underway in the Arts District downtown. The specialty grocer is re-purposing an 8,200-square-foot glass manufacturing warehouse on Mateo Street, keeping as many architectural details of the original space and generating as little impact/waste as possible. Slated to debut in March 2013 with an outdoor dining area, Urban Radish will also offer one of the largest electric car charging stations in the country located in its parking lot. [EaterWire]
