Yesterday, the Los Angeles City Council passed a new ordinance that restricts oversized vehicles from parking in certain spots on Wilshire from Fairfax to La Brea. Seemingly an attack on food trucks, mobile kitchens on Wilshire have been a longtime point of contention for local restaurant owners who feel the trucks take away from their business. Councilman Tom LaBonge states that the ordinance is a move to make streets safer, meanwhile food truck proponent Matt Geller claims that the trucks don't pose any public safely issue. [PLNBP]
