Taza, Javista, 8 Espressos Heat Up LA's Coffee Wars

New, 1 comment

1) Echo Park: Taza is a coffee shop with Latin influence made evident in its guava cheese pastries, Horchattes (horchatta lattes) and Chocolattes. Slightly delayed, the cafe opened December 8 on W. Sunset near Glendale Boulevard.

2) Hollywood: Javista is a new organic coffee bar, launched off a Kickstarter campaign, which soft opened December 10 on an underserved stretch of Sunset Boulevard near Las Palmas. Here baristas prepare Urth Caffe coffee and tea, in addition to baked goods and sandwiches soon to come. 6707 Sunset Blvd.

3) West LA: A new coffee house called 8 Espressos has replaced Tanner's Coffee on Santa Monica Boulevard between Bundy and Barrington. It's a sort of unfussy community place that brews locally roasted beans and offers open mic nights with free yoga meditation talks on Thursdays. Show management your Yelp review and score half off your drink. 11901 Santa Monica Blvd.
