TOMS Cafe, Ratata Shuttered, Starbucks Evenings in OC

New, 1 comment

VENICE— With regard to that new TOMS flagship on Abbot Kinney, slated to open on Friday, the retail shop will also function as a cafe selling the previously mentioned Pressed Juicery, in addition to Cafecito Organico coffee, and baked foods from Valerie Confections. There's even an area with tables and free wi-fi. [LAist]

WEST LA— Ratata, the self-proclaimed "Best French Restaurant in West Los Angeles," on Westwood near Santa Monica Boulevard, has shuttered to be replaced by a new sushi concept. [EaterWire]

OC— One of the two California Starbucks Evenings — a Starbucks cafe test concept that sells beer, wine and higher end foods — is located in Rancho Santa Margarita and OCR drops by to file thinkage. Minimal signage advertises the cafe's new offerings and to eat there's just truffle mac and cheese and flatbreads. Ballast Point Brewing Company IPA, Firestone DBA, Pacifico and Blue Moon are served along with a fairly safe variety of California and Italian wines priced from $6 to $15 by the glass and $20 to $45 for a bottle.
