Status: Opened yesterday
Adding to the dozen or so steakhouses already serving downtown Beverly Hills, yesterday Fleming's opened another location of its popular steakhouse concept in the area, on North Beverly Drive. This brings the total number of Fleming's locations in California to 12. Agoura Hills-based Design Development Company was hired to conceive the space, which is much more modern than most other Fleming's locations. The two story facade is encased in a sheet of glass, with plenty of steel and more glass used throughout, in addition to an open floor plan and a two-story wine display case in the center of the dining area. The main dining room surrounds a completely open kitchen and bar. Fleming's President Skip Fox said in a release, "We have long wanted to introduce a Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Beverly Hills ... [and] we are honored to be a part of such a notable international destination and look forward to being an active member of the community." The restaurant's grand opening event, to be held on January 24, 2013, will function as a benefit with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to the Beverly Hills Education Foundation.
