Santa Monica's The Parlor, once home to ruckus nights of drinking, is going under the knife two years after management was forced to shutter the sports bar due to noise complaints and more. Chef Larry Greenwood of STK, Boho and some of Adolfo Suaya's newer spots, is looking to reformat The Parlor into, no shocker here, a steakhouse, a Japanese one at that. Word on the street is that it will be called 1519 (the restaurant's address on Wilshire), offering up sushi, steak, and Wagyu between two floors and 160 seats. Greenwood has applied to serve Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until 2 a.m. Right now the space is a total plywood zone, much work to be done.
