Checking in at Plan Check, Opening Feb 22 on Sawtelle

Don't be misguided. Plan Check is just testing out friends and family service. This Sawtelle addition opens to the public on February 22 so plan accordingly.

From the shots above once can see that Plan Check is built to foster diner-to-diner interaction via communal tables and a long bar which claim most of the dining real estate. Four-seater booths span one wall, meanwhile a smaller dimly-lit alcove offers a tv option for sports-minded patrons.

The food, beer, wine, and cocktail menus are posted overhead at the bar. Remember, plates like veggie chips and pastrami nosh were conceived by former Umami corporate chef Ernesto Uchimura, with alky offerings curated and created by Steve Livigni and Pablo Moix of La Descarga, Harvard & Stone, and that lot. Signature cocktails come with fun names like Spaghetti Western (mezcal, hot sauce, red bell pepper, lime, agave, beer) and Bento Box (rum, Licor 43, sake, bitters). Hours of operation run Sunday to Thursday, 11AM to midnight; Friday and Saturday 11AM to 2AM. Finally a better bar open late on the westside.
