Highland Park Kitchen and Plan Check Serve

New, 2 comments

1) Highland Park: The gentrification of Highland Park continues with the addition of Highland Park Kitchen, a new neighborhood tapas haunt currently in soft opening mode, slated to officially debut February 29. Executive chef Huntley See prepares a global mashup of plates that sound like pomegranate ceviche, carne asada fries, and braised short ribs with garlic potato puree and crispy onions. Specialty cocktails aren't too fancy, some call for muddled fruit, others incorporate Sprite. Come by on February 29 for HPK's opening party with complimentary small bites and live tunes. Although still in its soft opening, HPS is now serving lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. [EaterWire]

2) West LA: On the other side of town, Plan Check officially kicks open doors today. As a reminder, this is Terry Heller's casual American concept cheffed by Ernesto Uchimura (Umami) with many Whiskey-based libations thanks to barmen Pablo Moix and Steve Livigni. Look inside. [EaterWire]
