BierBeisl is former Patina Restaurant Group chef Bernhard Mairinger's ode to Austria which manifests itself in the shuttered Bottega Marino space on Little Santa Monica. Though about a month delayed, Mairinger quickly turned around the small space and now plans to open February 27 (resy here). Mairinger's seasonally changing Austrian menu offers Angelenos a spread of new dishes like vanilla-infused goat cheese gratinee, veal gulash with spatzel, and chanterelle ragout over bread dumplings. A separate sausage list ranges from bratwurst to weisswurst (simmered in milk) to the more exotic Swiss cheese-infused Käsekrainer. As for alcohol, Austrian wine and mostly European beer, plus Schnapps/Eau de Vie to round out the meal.
