This morning, the Los Angeles Times reported on even more big news involving the Food Section, besides, ahm, the fact that LA's beloved Jonathan Gold would be writing reviews (and other cultural pieces) for the paper. Turns out, the Food Section will be folded into a new Saturday section of the paper. This new section (called, "Saturday") will encompass Home and Health as well. It was not long ago that the Wednesday Food Section moved to Thursdays (another budget cut move). Shortly after that, SIV started contributing full restaurant reviews only every other week. This new move, along with the paper's new online paywall, may just put the bankrupt Tribune paper back in black. Or, now Angelenos will see no reason to pick up a print edition during the week. Time will tell. [LAT]
