Brick + Mortar Stands In For Salute March 9, New Hwood Eatery En Route Too

BRG is the restaurant group responsible for Bar Esquina in Cabo San Lucas and partners are gearing up for the official reception of their first LA endeavor, Brick + Mortar, an 8 day revamp of the earlier Salute wine bar tucked off Main Street in Santa Monica. And that's not all. Right now Brick + Mortar is soft open, and after the official launch on March 9, BRG will focus on a second restaurant in Hollywood to open a few months later.

No longer a sleek modern number, up above the rejiggered space is clad with new brick walls, a perched communal table, and tufted banquettes which divide the space. Also in place, new food and drink menus. Sticking to small plates and pizza mode mostly priced under $20, one will find a jumbled assortment of tuna tartare with seaweed, avocado, radish, ginger, and chili; green curry chicken pizza with tomato and cilantro; and pork belly with farro, radish and lemon. Bye-bye enomatic wine dispensers, hello domestic and international wine by glass and bottle, mostly standard beer, and $12 cocktails that call for the likes of Sweet Tea Vodka, fresh lemonade, and soda water.

Lunch service begins April 1. Hours of operation run Monday to Thursday 4PM to midnight, Friday 4PM to 1:30AM, and Saturday 10AM to 1:30AM.
